We are pleased to have been joined today by His Excellency Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal, on the second day of West African Elders Forum’s Sub-regional Dialogue on Sustaining Democractic Principles in West Africa, going on in Dakar.

We, at WAEF, used the opportunity to formally congratulate President Sall on his recent election as the Chairperson of the African Union(AU) and encouraged him to deploy his good offices to promote democracy, peaceful elections and good governance on the continent.
